Trip to Conway Park0

Picnic and play at Conway Park on PhotoPeach

20/7/17

Yesterday we went on a walk to Conway Park. We took the healthy snacks we made in our Design Technology lesson and a packed lunch (kindly prepared by Mrs McGrath, Mrs Hood and Mrs Pye). When we got there we were allowed to play with our friends. At 12:00pm we sat down to enjoy our delicious picnic. We had such a great time with our friends, a perfect end to a great year.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the trip happen…Mrs Gavell, Miss Gavell, Mrs Dix and Mrs Smith.

SATs Week0

So the children have now completed all their SATs papers and I would like to say a huge well done to them all. The whole class have worked their socks off and achieved so much. I am very proud of them all.

From speaking to a few of you, I think it’s the toast and juice that has been the most memorable experience of this week, and if that’s the case then I have achieved what I set out to do…ensuring the children are happy and ready to do their best…not stressed and worried about taking a test.

Have a super half term everyone!

Homework this half term….have fun in the sun!!!! (If you would like to write about your half term adventures, you can keep a diary in the front of your yellow Homework Book).

Don’t forget to browse the Art Exhibition after school tomorrow (Thursday 25th May), in the hall. The exhibition will begin at 3:30pm and finish at 6:00pm. You will have the opportunity to purchase your child’s work professionally framed.

We look forward to seeing you there.

‘Sponsor Mia’0

I would just like to take the chance to wish one of our class members all the best for her sponsored walk, which will take place this Sunday, to raise money for the families affected by Monday’s tragedy in Manchester.

After hearing the news on Tuesday morning, Mia asked her mum if she could do something to raise money for those affected. This kind and thoughtful act certainly demonstrates our school values and is definitely ‘Harris Standard’

If you would like to support Mia by sponsoring her I will be collecting money on her behalf  tomorrow and Friday, alternatively there is a ‘justgiving’ page on Facebook.

Well done Mia you should be very proud.

Year 2 SATs0

The children will complete their Statutory Assessment Tests the week beginning: 22/5/17

They have been working hard all year, particularly of late, and I am looking forward to celebrating their achievements during this week.

To support your child during this week in school you can…

  1. Make sure they get to bed at a reasonable time so they aren’t tired when sitting the tests;
  2. Make sure your child has a good breakfast to help them concentrate;
  3. Make sure they are on time for school;

It is important you are aware that although these tests are statutory, end of year results are based on teacher assessment.

If you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks

Miss Sanders
